Pisak, a small fishing and tourist town that traces its roots back to 1500, as evidenced by the church of St. Marko, on the very coast of the Adriatic Sea between Omiš and Makarska. It is 40 km from Split and 20 km from Makarska, located near the famous Vrulja, a naturally protected bay, 5 km from the island of Brač and 120 km from the famous Marian shrine of Međugorje. Our house Villa Porat is located right on the seashore, surrounded by beaches. The climate in Pisek is extremely favorable and suitable for sunbathing and swimming already from May to October.
It is especially nice in the pre-season and post-season because it is extremely warm and quiet and the prices are much lower. The beaches are pebbly, the sea is clean and suitable for children to swim in because the sea gradually goes from shallow to deep. The sea is extremely clean because there has never been any industry nearby, and there are plenty of sea currents that mix it regularly. In that small and quiet place you have a supermarket, a small market with fresh fruit and vegetables as well as daily fresh fish, a coffee bar, and restaurants where you can eat local specialties.
In Pisk, you can rent a boat and go swimming on one of the smaller, secluded beaches nearby, or go on a full-day trip by boat to the island of Brač. In the vicinity of our place, you have an exceptional choice of sports and entertainment, from windsurfing to extremely attractive rafting on the famous Cetina river, and the possibility of paragliding and freeclimbing on the slopes of Biokovo. If you want some nightlife, you can have fun in the numerous restaurants and night clubs in nearby Makarska. For more than 40 years, the main summer event in Omiš has been the Dalmatian Klapa Festival. You will spend a really peaceful and relaxing holiday in Pisak and you will definitely want to come back again.
